The Casa Azafrán Community Center, an exciting and unique center at 2195 Nolensville Pike, is expected to open in the Fall of 2012.

On April 21, Conexión Américas, who created the vision for the $5 million building, held a Groundbreaking Ceremony and Open House, allowing the friends, supporters, partners and local residents an opportunity to see what soon will be happening inside the center.

In attendance were friends from La Sabrocita radio station, traditional Latin food vendors, performers and dancers from the Global Education Center, who will have a studio at Casa Azafrán.

Special honored guests included Nashville Symphony Maestro Giancarlo and Shirley Guerrero, both of whom are co-chairs of the Capital Campaign; and the Honorable Muni Figueres, Ambassador of Costa Rica and Nashville Mayor Karl Dean, who told the crowd:

“This community center will function as an economic hub of a growing area. It will provide critical services to a population who must succeed if our city will continue to thrive.”
