Job Summary
The Nashville Bar Association is seeking a dedicated and passionate paralegal to support the Eviction Right to Counsel Program. The Eviction Right to Counsel Program provides high-quality, no-cost legal assistance to low- and moderate-income renters facing eviction and housing insecurity in Nashville. The paralegal will work directly with clients, attorneys, and community partners to ensure immigrant and marginalized tenants have meaningful access to justice in Davidson County.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
- Conduct client intake and eligibility screenings
- Support attorneys with case preparation, including drafting legal documents, organizing case files, and assisting with trial preparation
- Accompany clients and attorneys to court to assist with legal proceedings and interpretation as needed
- Assist with tracking case outcomes
- Maintain accurate and timely records in case management systems
- Perform additional duties consistent with the scope and goals of the program
Qualifications
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Fluent in English and Spanish (required)
- Passionate about housing justice, collective liberation, and social equity
- Resourceful, communicative, and adaptable in the face of stress and change
- Able to work independently and collaboratively on a multi-disciplinary team
- Comfortable working in diverse cultural settings; respectful and empathetic toward all communities
- Compassionate and committed to serving historically underserved communities
- Strong communicator; self-motivated and eager to learn
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems
