Position Description
The Equipment & Supply Clerk is a Civil-Service position with the Nashville Fire Department. Performs responsible duties involving ordering, stocking, issuing, and delivering equipment and supplies to all NFD’s personnel and facilities.
***Employees may be required to work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Typical Duties
Review requests for supplies and equipment.
Assemble orders for supplies and equipment.
Distribute supplies and assist with inventory controls.
Keep accurate records.
Recover and clean contaminated, re-usable equipment left at area facilities.
Receive supplies from vendors (unload trucks).
Assist with coordinating delivery dates with vendors.
Stock supply room.
Minor equipment repair.
Deliver and pick-up vehicles to/from repair shop.
Maintain computer inventory of supplies and equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Required License:
Valid Driver License
Candidates with accreditations earned in a foreign institute are encouraged to apply.
Note: Per Metro Ordinance No. SO94-1078. All employees of the Metropolitan Government shall be residents of the State of Tennessee or become residents of the state within six (6) months of employment as a prerequisite to employment with the Metropolitan Government.
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience with inventory maintenance procedures
Experience with correct inventory levels
