AGENCY DESCRIPTION:

AncoraTN (ATN), formerly End Slavery Tennessee, works tirelessly to nurture survivor healing and strategically combat human trafficking in Middle Tennessee. We seek to break cycles of exploitation and support survivors of human trafficking as they heal from their traumas—offering long-term, comprehensive aftercare services. Through training communities and professionals, advocating for legal changes, and implementing prevention programming, AncoraTN works to stop human trafficking before it ever begins.

AncoraTN was founded in 2012 as a faith-based, not-for-profit organization for the purpose of community awareness and education. We strive to create an environment of faith and spirituality to restore hope and a lifetime of community. We are an agency committed to trauma-informed principles and seek to promote an environment focused around a diverse and inclusive team - all working towards the mission and vision of the organization.

 

REPORTS TO:  Board of Directors

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategy and Board Development

  • Cast vision and direction for the agency
  • Identify and launch initiatives to effectively advance mission
  • Communicate detailed timeline in regards to project management and campus master plan
  • Work closely with the Board of Directors on all agency activities
    • Budget
    • Financial policy
    • Conflict of Interest
    • Board continuity and sustainability
    • Ensure efficient relay of information to Board of Directors
    • Serve as an ad hoc member of the Board of Directors
    • Provide resources and expertise that enable the Board to fulfill its role:
  • Prepare meeting agendas in collaboration with the Board Chair.
  • Prepare and distribute packet to Board no later than one week prior to the board meeting, per by-laws.
  • Included in the packet will be a board report from CEO, Development Director, Director of Finance, and Director of Programs.

  • Policy Manual
  • Bylaws
  • Board Reports
  • Conflict of Interest
  • Financial policies
  • Trauma-Informed Approach
  • Work in partnership with the Board to create the strategic five-year plan and implement new processes and approaches to achieve success.
  • Responsible for ensuring agency focus remains true to ATN's mission and core values
  • Ongoing assessment of risk and opportunity for the organization

 

Operations and Management of Personnel

  • Maintain organizational chart of staff members with clear supervisory flow
  • In partnership with leadership, oversee staff-care
  • Analyze agency productivity to ensure all activity furthers the mission and goals
  • In collaboration with directors and HR & DEI Generalist, oversee employee onboarding and yearly staff training
  • Manage the annual Gantt chart process for Director of Programs
    • Conduct annual performance evaluations of Director of Development and External Relations, Director of Finance, Director of Programs, and Director of Operations
    • Works with Director of Operations to create campus master plan

Collaboration and External Relations

  • Advocate for the issue of Human Trafficking throughout Tennessee and beyond
  • Serve as the public face and voice of the organization
  • Act as the liaison to the Tennessee Counter-Trafficking Alliance with Restore Corps Memphis and Grow Free Knoxville
  • Speak publicly about human trafficking and the mission of AncoraTN
  • Attend all statewide Human Trafficking Council meetings
  • Network with governmental officials to advocate for critical human trafficking legislation
  • Respond and initiate as the ATN spokesperson to researchers, media, government officials, multi-agency strategy and policy groups
  • Maintain and employ expertise and influence to build effective systems and collaborative partnerships
  • Maintain MOUs with key stakeholders
  • Approve high level external communication
  • Write blogs and contribute to white papers or research initiatives

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  1. Work is carried out primarily in an office setting with intermittent sitting, standing, walking and some light physical activity.
  2. Most work is performed while sitting and using the computer, phone and engaged in face to face conversation with staff and/or clients. Some car travel and use of personal vehicle is required.

JOB TYPE:

Full-time (willing to work some evenings and weekend hours as needed)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Minimum Bachelor’s degree, Masters preferred.
  2. Minimum ten years of combined experience in human trafficking, nonprofit agencies and/or senior management positions.
  3. Able to pass a background investigation.
  4. Able to pass initial and subsequent drug screens.
  5. Must be willing able to embrace and exemplify core values of the organization.
  1. Ability to think strategically, anticipate future consequences and trends, and incorporate them into the organizational plan.
  2. Experience in a senior leadership role ensuring an organization runs smoothly.
  1. Exceptional capacity for managing and leading people.
  2. Visionary leader with experience in non-profit leadership.
  3. Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  4. Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with senior management, board of directors and staff.
  5. Ability to implement agency wide strategies in alignment with the values and principles of trauma-informed care.

 

 

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

Base Salary:   To be determined based on experience and education.

Benefits:

  • Healthcare Benefits: Medical 100% employer paid for individuals and 60% employer paid for families.
  • Cellular telephone provided
  • $150.00/ month for therapy
  • 120 hours PTO accrued 10 hours/ month. Eligible after 30 days of employment.
  • 96 hours sick leave accrued 4 hours/ pay period. Eligible after 30 days of employment.
  • 13 paid holidays
  • 4 floating holidays
  • Short term disability, Long term disability, AD&D and Life insurance
  • Employer 403b match up to 1% of salary based on employee contributions. Eligible for match after 6 months of employment
