Job Summary

Come join our team at St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church in Nashville, TN. We are looking to hire a full-time communications manager, who will develop and maintain communications strategy and brand identity for St. Bartholomew’s across all touch points. St. B’s is a liturgical and sacramental church with parishioners from diverse church backgrounds. We seek to follow Jesus and form ourselves in his likeness. We take our faith and worship seriously, while trying not to take ourselves too seriously. We offer dynamic programming for children, youth, and adults. We serve in our community and are concerned about racial justice, serving our community, and creation care. We welcome newcomers with open arms. We are financially stable and our Sunday attendance has been growing steadily since January 2023. We have an excellent, team-oriented staff that is looking for someone with communications experience and leadership skills to join us!

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include maintaining and updating our website; planning and executing all-parish emails; developing social media strategy and content; advertising services and events via posters and Sunday worship bulletin inserts; organizing and producing yearly publications for stewardship and annual meeting; updating campus signage; photographing events (or arranging for photographers); and preparing the Sunday announcements for our Rector.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be an excellent writer and editor; efficient with his or her time; a team-player; and knowledgeable of liturgical worship. He or she will have facility across various social media, email, and design platforms. Key skills and attributes include:

  • Facility or adaptability with Canva, Powerpoint, myEmma/Mailchimp, Breeze database and other similar membership databases, Dropbox
  • Excellent editing and proof-reading skills
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • High premium placed on efficiency
  • Personal or professional experience with liturgical worship and knowledge of the liturgical year (Episcopal, Anglican, Evangelical Lutheran, United Methodist, Catholic, Moravian, Presbyterian Church USA)
  • Preference for professional experience with church communications
  • Higher education including a B.A. or B.S.
