#GIVINGTUESDAY 2
Do you remember your first visit to a college campus? Visiting professors and students to learn about the culture of the school that is so hard to discern from websites and brochures? Do you remember that feeling of excitement that you, too, would soon be a college student? Or maybe you wish you had the opportunity to visit schools and attend college.
For many of the immigrant and refugee students in our Escalera college preparation program, college visits are difficult (or even impossible) because of transportation, financial and other obstacles. That’s where you can make a difference.
As part of #GivingTuesday {#UnDiaParaDar}, we are participating in a matching grant with Hispanics in Philanthropy (HIPgive) to raise money for students in our Escalera program to visit four universities.
Your donation will be doubled on #GivingTuesday, starting now until 1:59am CT Dec 2. Click here to donate.
A donation through their site will be matched with HIPgive funds to help over 100 immigrant and refugee students visit college campuses, experience college life for the first time, and meet with faculty and student leaders to help them find the right fit for their academic and social goals.
Gracias for helping us meet our goal of $2,500 to give each of these students the opportunity to visit colleges and envision their own future.
