Conexión Américas announces “My Immigrant Roots” photo contest and invites you to share your photos to celebrate immigration, diversity and family. Submit photos of your family of immigrants via Instagram and Facebook — whether they arrived in the United States 100 years ago, or five years ago.
Win airline Tickets
The 1st place winner in each of the 2 categories (Contemporary and Vintage) will receive 1 round-trip ticket on Southwest Airlines, the official contest sponsor. Tickets valid on Southwest-operated, published, scheduled service only in the United States and Puerto Rico. Tickets are not valid on code-share or AirTran operated service or any international service.
Your photos on display
The winning photographs, and a collection of selected entries, will be exhibited at the Casa Azafrán Community Center.
Casa Azafrán, the gateway to Nashville’s most international district, is a $5 million nonprofit collaborative with offices for health services, counseling, education, plus a commercial community kitchen, meeting, event, culture and art spaces.

THE CONEXIÓN AMÉRICAS “MY IMMIGRANT ROOTS FAMILY PORTRAIT COMPETITION” (“COMPETITION”) IS OFFERED BY CONEXIÓN AMÉRICAS (‘SPONSOR”). THE COMPETITION IS LIMITED TO PARTICIPANTS 18 YEARS OF AGE AND OLDER IN THE 50 UNITED STATES AND DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA (“U.S.”). NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO PARTICIPATE. COMPETITION BEGINS ON AUGUST 15, 2013 . ALL ENTRIES MUST BE RECEIVED BY SEPTEMBER 15, 2013 AT 11:59 PM CENTRAL TIME AFTER WHICH TIME THE COMPETITION ENTRY PERIOD WILL CLOSE. CONTENDERS WILL BE SELECTED BY A PANEL OF JUDGES SELECTED BY SPONSOR AND WINNER WILL BE CHOSEN BY JUDGES FROM AMONG THE PHOTOS THAT RECEIVES THE MOST VOTES ON FACEBOOK. ALL ENTRIES BECOME THE PROPERTY OF SPONSOR.
ELIGIBILITY. Drawing is open to residents of the 50 United States and District of Columbia (“U.S.”) who are 18 years of age or older. LOCAL RESTRICTIONS MAY APPLY. COMPETITION IS VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.
ENTRY. Entry in the competition is available online only by uploading a photo on Facebook with the hashtag #ConexionPhotoContest. To enter, access the website during the Competition Entry Period and follow directions for submission of entries. Entries must be submitted no later than 11:59 PM Central time September 15, 2013.
