History was made this month when the first crosswalk with bilingual signage in Nashville (and maybe the whole state of Tennessee) was installed along Nolensville Road near Casa Azafrán. With the opening of the Casa Azafrán Early Learning Center, a partnership of Metro Nashville Public Schools and Conexión Américas, a crosswalk is critical for the safety of families and staff as well as pedestrians crossing Nolensville Road to use the Nashville MTA bus. Executive Director Renata Soto worked with Metro Nashville Public Works to incorporate a Spanish language sign along with the standard English sign instructing pedestrians how to use the crosswalk signal. We will continue to work to improve the pedestrian experience in our community, so stay tuned for more!
