Conexión Américas performs at Titans game

Conexión Américas staff, volunteers, friends and family were honored to dance and perform a traditional street parade at the Tennessee Titans game Sept. 23, 2012.

The team honored one of our dedicated volunteers, Mercedes Almaraz, during the game with the NFL Hispanic Heritage Leadership Award.

From the Titans announcement:

Believing in the power of education, for more than five years, she has been teaching and mentoring other Latino parents in Nashville’s public schools on how to be engaged in their children’s education so that they can successfully graduate from high school. Although she did not have the opportunity to reach high school, she devotes her time to empowering other parents like her who have similar hopes for their children.

Congratulations to Mercedes and Happy Hispanic Heritage Month!
